Dr. Sullivan joined the DHS faculty in 1999. Presently, she teaches courses on Catholic Education: Teaching and Learning, the Documents of Vatican II, and Christian Art in Liturgy and Catechesis. She received her Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC., with doctoral dissertation research in the area of patristic liturgical catechesis. Previously, she worked for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and served as Catechetical Consultant to the Archdiocese of Washington’s Office of Religious Education and the Archdiocese for the Military Services. Jem writes for a variety of Catholic publications on catechetical and liturgical themes and her most recent publication from Our Sunday Visitor is a Study Guide to the US Adult Catholic Catechism. http://dhs.edu/aboutus/newsandevents/sullivanStudyGuide.aspx) She serves as Education Consultant for a collaborative project on pastoral excellence funded by a Lilly Endowment grant and assists the Lay Centre, Rome with courses, events and programs. Jem is a qualified docent of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC., where she leads public tours of the museum’s masterpieces.
