Mercy U Lay Theology Institute

Parish-based program for laity to deepen knowledge of the Faith

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland, in partnership with the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, has created MercyU. This program, now in its second year, is for laity who want to intellectually deepen their knowledge of the Faith through study in the Thomistic tradition.

The goal is to equip laity to engage the world with reason informed by the teachings of the Catholic Church. Classes take place at Our Lady of Mercy, last for four weeks each, and are taught by members of the Pontifical Faculty.

Remaining classes for Fall 2017-Spring 2018 include:

The Masterworks of God: The Sacraments – Dr. Greg LaNave – begins January 10, 2018

The Beauty of the Faith: Christian Art in Theology – Dr. Jem Sullivan – begins April 14, 2018

Spiritual Theology – Fr. Basil Cole, O.P. – begins April 11, 2018
