Mercy U Lay Theology Institute

Parish-based program for laity to deepen knowledge of the Faith

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland, in partnership with the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, has created MercyU. This program, now beginning its third year, is for laity who want to intellectually deepen their knowledge of the Faith through study in the Thomistic tradition.

The goal is to equip laity to engage the world with reason informed by the teachings of the Catholic Church. Classes take place at Our Lady of Mercy, last for four weeks each, and are taught by members of the Pontifical Faculty.

Registration for the 2018-19 course offerings opens on August 1, 2018. Classes are:

God and Man in Thomistic Philosophy – Dr. Brian Carl – begins Saturday, September 22, 2018
