Fr. Paul Clarke is an Instructor of Moral Theology at the Dominican House of Studies and an Assistant Director of the Thomistic Institute. Born in Seattle, he attended the University of St. Thomas in the Twin Cities. He entered the Dominican Province of St. Joseph in 2013 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2019. After completing the licentiate with a tesina on St. Thomas’s theology of history, he taught at Providence College from 2020–2022. In 2022 he moved to Paris and began doctoral studies in medieval intellectual history at L’Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales. The area of his research is medieval propheticism, and the subject of the dissertation is the relationship between prophecy and social order in 12th century Europe. His work has appeared in Nova et Vetera, New Blackfriars, as well as in edited volumes of medieval philosophy and history.
