Fr. Shah entered the Dominican Province of St. Joseph in 2003 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2009. After returning to graduate school for his doctorate, he served as a professor in the department of theology at Providence College for five years. In the summer of 2026, he was appointed Dean of the PFIC. Fr. Shah is an adult convert, receiving the sacrament of baptism in 1997. He taught high school religion and literature for several years before joining the Dominicans. Today, his work focuses upon questions of fundamental Catholic theology. The subject of his dissertation was the twentieth-century philosopher and theologian, Xavier Zubiri. Among other academic journals, Fr. Shah’s work may be found in Nova et Vetera (English), Modern Theology, and The New Ressourcement.
