On July 1, 2026, the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception welcomed Fr. Bruno Shah, O.P. as the new Dean.
Fr. Shah is a Dominican friar of the Province of St. Joseph. Prior to entering the Order of Preachers, he studied at Fordham University in the Bronx and taught at LaSalle Academy on the Lower East Side. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2009 and has since been assigned to the churches of St. Vincent Ferrer (NYC), St. Thomas Aquinas (VA), and St. Dominic (DC). He completed a doctorate in systematic theology at the University of Notre Dame. Before his appointment as Dean to the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, he was assistant professor of theology at Providence College.
Regarding his new role, Fr. Shah remarked: “Returning to the House of Studies to serve as Dean is a tremendous honor and gift. My appreciation for it will no doubt continue to grow as the work progresses. Indeed, all of the Lord’s paths are full of mercy and truth (see Psalm 25:10). Amen.”
Welcoming Fr. Shah to his new role, Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P., President of the Pontifical Faculty, said: “Fr. Bruno brings to this office a remarkable combination of pastoral experience, theological scholarship, and commitment to the intellectual and spiritual formation of our students. I am grateful for his willingness to serve, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to strengthen the Pontifical Faculty in its service to the Dominican Order and the wider Church.”
The Pontifical Faculty also extends its sincere gratitude to Fr. Dominic Langevin, O.P., for his exemplary service as Dean over the past five years, during which time he labored heroically, often in unknown ways, in service of the school.
